How Much Do Dermal Fillers Cost? Here’s What You Need to Know!

How Much Do Dermal Fillers Cost

Life can be a little rough sometimes.

You know what I mean?

We all have our own struggles, but some of us just have more than others. Whether it’s the way that we look or the way that we feel, sometimes life is just hard. And when it comes to aging and dermal fillers, well… you might say that life has got us in its crosshairs. Some say that it’s all about the journey, and I think that’s true. But as far as aging goes, I also think it’s important to remember that there is no prize for getting there first.

So if you are ready to transform yourself and the way that you feel about yourself, then I think it’s time to talk to your doctor about dermal fillers. You shouldn’t wait any longer than you have to, because when it comes down to it, this is an investment in your health.

And to assist you in making an informed decision, we’re here to help you figure out what dermal filler is, how much dermal fillers cost, and how you can get them for as little as possible. After all, nobody wants to spend too much on an anti-aging solution—especially when there are so many other things we could be spending our money on.

How Much Do Dermal Fillers Cost?

Dermal fillers are one of the most popular treatments for aging, and they can be used in a number of ways. The most common use is to plump wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes, nose, and mouth. This can help create a more youthful appearance for those who are bothered by signs of aging.

Dermal fillers come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They are often categorized by their composition: hyaluronic acid or collagen-based fillers are the most common. Both of these types of fillers are non-animal based, which makes them great options for those who prefer not to use animal products in their skincare routine. However, they do come with different pros and cons when it comes to cost and effectiveness.

The cost per syringe varies depending on which type you choose: hyaluronic acid fillers tend to be less expensive than collagen-based ones.

Generally, every syringe will cost $675 but that’s for a general dermal filler. For more advanced, long-lasting dermal filler formulas, for example, a syringe of Radiesse will cost $800 per unit.

However, unless you make an appointment with a skincare specialist, it can be hard to know how many syringes you’ll need.

So, before you even worry about the associated costs of your filler, talk to a doctor to determine what type of filler best fits your needs, and then based on your budget and expert recommendations, choose the filler that’s right for you.

Reasons Why Dermal Fillers Cost So Much

Now that we have established a basic understanding of what dermal fillers are and the various types available, let’s talk about why they cost so much.

1. The quality of the product

You can’t put a price on beauty, right? Well, that’s not exactly true. Dermal fillers are specialized medical treatments that are designed to rejuvenate your skin and help you look younger. As with all medical treatments, dermal fillers cost money—and lots of it.

The ingredients in dermal fillers cost so much because they’re made of a combination of different materials that are expensive to create and then use in their final form. Here are some examples:

Collagen is found naturally in the human body and is used as an injectable filler because it helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines by filling out creases on the face. Collagen is extracted from animals or fish—or sometimes even human cadavers—and can be obtained in large quantities through these sources. Because collagen is extracted in bulk from these sources, it’s more cost-effective than trying to create your own collagen at home by extracting it from your own bones or fat tissue (which would probably be pretty gross).

Polylactic acid (PLA)

Polylactic acid is a type of biodegradable polymer that’s used in plastic surgery because it can be molded into the desired shape and is able to be absorbed by the body over time. Further boasting the ability to stimulate collagen production and elasticity, PLA is another common component in many wrinkle-reducing injections.

Polymethyl-methacrylate Microspheres (PMMA)

Polymethyl-methacrylate microspheres are tiny beads usually made of glass or plastic that are added to many wrinkle-reducing injections as an abrasive agent. These particles help improve the penetration of other substances into your skin by increasing friction and breaking down fatty tissue in the area.

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your body that’s responsible for holding in water and helping to maintain tissue elasticity. As we age, however, the production of hyaluronic acid slows down, which can lead to dryness and wrinkles. It’s this latter property that makes it common in wrinkle-reducing injections.

2. Professional Dermal Filler Administration Costs

While the cost can vary based on your location, a single injection of dermal filler typically costs between $600 and $1,000. This is a one-time fee that covers consultation and administration of the treatment, as well as any follow-up care you might need.

The process usually begins with a one-on-one consultation, where your provider will discuss your goals and concerns about your skin. You’ll also receive a thorough examination to determine whether or not you have any underlying conditions that may affect the treatment. If everything looks good, then the injection of filler can begin! This usually takes about 15 minutes, but it varies based on what kind of filler is being used (more on this below).
